Dr. Chariker has extensive experience in general oncologic and general pediatric surgery that he brings to his plastic surgery practice. His training in
microsurgery also provides him with an added component for reconstructive surgery in both the adult and pediatric population. He was fellowship trained in
hand surgery at the Kleinhert Hand Institute and has extensive experience at the Navy's premiere health care center in Virginia. Dr. Chariker received his
plastic surgery training at the University of Louisville.
Dr. Chariker's background in reconstructive surgery has provided him with an essential understanding of the cosmetic patient. He believes that a short-sided approach to many cosmetic problems leads to an incorrect solution. He has extensive experience in both facial and general cosmetic surgery.
He is board certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery and board certified in Plastic Surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is a candidate for the American Society of Plastic Surgery. He was the director for hand surgery in the Department of Plastic Surgery at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmith, VA before moving to Louisville as the Director of Craniofacial Surgery.
He has been the surgical director for Operation Hope for 5 years which is a project that performs corrective surgery for patients with craniofacial anomalies predominately in the Philippines.
